Intention, Invention, Declension
Like any work of art, the intension of the artist, the creativity of its expression, and the component elements of the work all come together to deliver a visual result. Being able to consider these elements helps to explore a deeper perspective and enhance the experience of viewing the work.
For specific works, this blog will present a story on how these aspects came together for me and for the painting. I make every effort not to tell the viewer exactly what and how the work should be seen. That is a very personal experience. At the very best I hope this blog will lead to a conversation on ideas, technique, mediums resources, history, and the purpose of art generally.
